1. This is beta software
Chain Buster is new and is not fully tested. Errors, outages and unexpected behaviour are to be expected. Rounds may be voided, scores may be lost and the game may be taken offline without notice.
By playing you accept that any decision on scores, results, eligibility and payment, whether made by the software or by Russell Wallace, is final.
The game may be paused or stopped at any time, at the operator's discretion, including for reasons of cost or budget. No epoch in progress is guaranteed to complete.
The game may also be paused or stopped if the operator believes abuse is taking place.
2. Free to enter
There is no payment, no stake and no purchase of any kind. You do not need a Cardano wallet to play. Nothing can be bought: not extra rounds, not continues, not any advantage whatsoever.
3. Age
You must be 18 or over to play.
4. How to play
Pick a name from the list. You will be given that name with a number after it, and a one-time key.
Your key is the only proof that the name is yours. It is saved in your browser. If you clear your browser data, or play from another device without having copied your key, you lose access to that name and any score attached to it. Copy your key somewhere safe.
Each round ends when the next block is minted on the Cardano mainnet. Your score rises for as long as the round lasts. Cash out before the block arrives and you bank your score. Fail to cash out and you score nothing for that round.
Cashing out does not take effect at once. Your press is exposed for the rest of the current second and the whole of the next one, so between one and two seconds. If a block is minted in that window, you do not bank.
Your cash out only counts when it reaches our server. If your connection drops during a round and a block is minted before it returns, you do not bank.
You have 30 rounds per name per epoch.
5. The prize
The highest cumulative banked score at the epoch boundary wins the prize pot. The pot starts at a set opening amount. Each epoch in which the prize goes unclaimed, the pot increases by a set amount, up to a cap. Once the prize is won, the pot resets to a lower base for the next epoch and builds again from there. The current pot is always shown on the page. Where two players finish level, the player who reached that score first wins.
The final leaderboard is hashed and the hash published on the Cardano blockchain, so the result can be verified and cannot be altered afterwards.
The prize amounts may change. Any change takes effect from the next epoch and never during an epoch in progress.
6. Claiming
The winner has 15 minutes from the epoch boundary to claim, by entering a Cardano mainnet address. The boundary is determined by the Cardano blockchain and not by the operator. That is the only thing asked of you. Your name and your key are already held in your browser and are verified automatically, so no personal details of any kind are collected.
There is no notification of any kind. No email address or wallet is collected, so nobody can be told they have won. If you are near the top of the leaderboard, watch the countdown to the boundary and be on the page when it passes.
If you are claiming from a different browser or device, you will need to enter your key by hand, which is why it is worth copying somewhere safe.
If the prize is not claimed within 15 minutes it rolls over: the pot increases by the set amount for the following epoch, up to the cap.
Play is suspended from shortly before the epoch boundary until the claim is resolved, either by the winner claiming or by the 15 minutes expiring.
Payment is normally sent automatically within minutes of a valid claim. Some claims are reviewed by hand before payment, and those are usually sent within 24 hours. If you have claimed and heard nothing after 24 hours, contact @GrahamsNoPlus1 on X.
You are responsible for the address you provide. ADA sent to an address you supplied cannot be recovered.
7. One name per person
You may hold one name. Claiming multiple names to gain an advantage is not permitted.
Where a name is claimed from a connection that has recently claimed another, there is a delay before the next claim can be made. Names already held are never affected by this.
Claims from VPNs and Tor are refused, as are claims from addresses with a poor reputation score. If you believe you have been refused in error, contact @GrahamsNoPlus1 on X quoting the reference shown on screen, and a name can be issued by hand.
Russell Wallace may void a score, a name or a prize where there is evidence of abuse, and that decision is final.
8. Your data
No account is created. No email address, password or personal detail is collected, and you do not need a wallet to play.
When you claim a name, your IP address is checked against a third party service to detect VPNs and proxies. This is used only to prevent abuse. Connection data is kept for 90 days and then deleted.
If you win and claim, the Cardano address you provide is kept as a record of the payment.
Your chosen name and your score appear on a public leaderboard.
9. Changes
These terms may change. The version in force is the one displayed on the site at the time you play, and the version you accepted is recorded against your name.
10. General
This is a free prize draw run for entertainment. It is void where prohibited by local law, and it is your responsibility to know whether you may take part where you live.
Nothing here creates any obligation on Russell Wallace beyond paying a validly claimed prize.
